Classification of surgery
Classification is based on the Surgical Schedule4. The classification of some common surgeries are shown below.

Remark :
1 When the Medical Savings Account is exhausted, the policy will be terminated.
2 If hospital confinement occurs outside the Benefit Area8, this benefit will be reduced by 50% and subject to
a maximum duration of 90 days in total. The benefit for intensive care unit is subject to a maximum duration of
15 days.
3 If two or more periods of hospital confinement are caused by the same injury or sickness, and each period is
separated by less than 90 days from the date of discharge of the immediately preceding period of related
confinement, the periods of confinement will be regarded as occasioned by one and the same disability.
4 i) If the operation performed is not listed in the Surgical Schedule, an amount equal to a scheduled operation
of equivalent gravity will be payable by Blue Cross (Asia-Pacific) Insurance Limited ("Blue Cross"). The
Surgical Schedule will be subject to review by Blue Cross from time to time, and the latest schedule
effective as at the time of claims will be applied to claim assessment.
ii) If a surgical procedure or an operation is performed outside the Benefit Area, this benefit will be reduced
by 50%.
iii) When two or more surgical procedures or operations (whether related or not) are performed in respect of
one disability, only the surgical procedure or operation of the highest benefit amount according to the
Surgical Schedule will be payable by Blue Cross.
5 This benefit is applicable to Daily Hospital Cash Benefit, Surgical Cash Benefit, and Pre & Post-hospitalisation
Outpatient Benefit, but not applicable to the Death Benefit or Medical Savings Account.
6 The Guaranteed Cash Value, plus non-guaranteed the Special Dividend (if any) less all medical claims paid,
will be payable upon the surrender of the policy.
7 The Daily Hospital Cash Benefit is calculated according to the number of days of hospital confinement per
disability. The insured must remain in the hospital for a minimum of 18 consecutive hours in order to qualify
for eligible confinement.

Canada, United States of America, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland,
Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United
Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

| Lifetime Medical Savings Insurance is an insurance plan with a savings element. Part of the premium pays for the insurance and related costs. If you are not happy with your policy, you have a right to cancel it within the cooling off period and obtain a refund of any premiums paid. A written notice signed by you should be received by BEA Life Limited at 29/F, BEA Tower, Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong within the cooling off period (that is, 21 days after the delivery of the policy or issue of a notice (informing you/your representative about the availability of the policy and expiry date of the cooling off period), whichever is the earlier). After the expiration of the cooling off period, if you cancel the policy before the end of the term, the projected total cash value may be less than the total premium you have paid. |
