No matter where you are and what medical services you have received, all your eligible medical expenses are covered up to the maximum of US$250,000 per person per year, or per person per disability.

Coverage for Chronic Treatment

Pre and Post Surgical Hospital Confinement
For surgical hospital confinement, this plan covers one pre-hospitalisation clinic consultation & all necessary clinic consultations up to a maximum of 6 weeks after discharge from hospital.

Blue Cross "Annual Health Check-up Programme", including the free health screening profiles and professional advice on laboratory reports from our medical consultants, is designed to detect early diseases and identify risk factors of your health.

Annual Dental Check-up*

"Annual Dental Check-up", including oral examination, scaling and polishing, is designed to keep your teeth in good shape and detect early dental diseases.

This covers legal liability you may incur to third parties for bodily injury and property damage.

 

Personal Effects Benefit

Whilst travelling abroad, you can call the Blue Cross Worldwide Emergency Aid 24-hour Alarm Centre to receive professional medical, legal and travel advice and services anywhere in the world.

 

Emergency Medical Assistance in China

In case of emergency requiring hospitalisation in China, simply present the "Medpass Card" and you will be able to access a network of more than 100 hospitals or medical units without paying any deposits.

 

Free Coverage for Newborn Child

If both parents are covered under the Taipan Medical Insurance Plan, your newly born child will be covered under the Basic Plan from the age of 15 days until the next policy renewal date.

 
Various Options for Your Specific Needs

Premium
Deductible for inpatient and co-insurance for outpatient are available to offer you choices at an affordable premium.
 
Eligible Age
Persons who are 65 years old or below can apply for this plan.
 
Note: 5% discount will be offered for one application of 10 to 15 insured members and 10% discount for one application of 16 insured members or above.

For 76 years old or above, the maximum limit per person (including Hospital & Surgical, Maternity and Outpatient Benefits) is US$130,000 per disability or per year.

Major Exclusions

1. Purchase of drugs, treatment or tests which are not Medically Necessary; or are not prescribed; or not performed by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
2. Hospitalisation solely for the purpose of general checkup, diagnostic X-Ray, Advanced imaging, Laboratory tests or Physiotherapy.
3. Treatment for Congenital or Developmental Conditions or disease of any kind.
4. Pre-existing Conditions.
5. Expenses directly or indirectly arising from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and its related Disability, including Acquired Immunization Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and / or any mutations, derivation or variations thereof, consequential upon an HIV infection occurring before the effective date of coverage applicable to such insured.
6. Treatment or disability directly or indirectly arising from or consequent upon: the abuse of drugs or alcohol, self-inflicted injuries or attempted suicide, illegal activity, or driving whilst exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit, or venereal and sexually transmitted disease or its sequelae.
7. Any charges in respect of services for beautification purposes, cosmetic surgery, hearing tests, routine blood tests, general check-ups, vaccinations or inoculations etc.
8. Dental treatment and oral surgery except for emergency treatment arising from an accident received during confinement. Follow up treatment from such hospital confinement relating to dental treatment or oral surgery shall not be covered.
9. All investigation, treatment and counseling services relating to maternity and its complications.
10. Treatment directly or indirectly arising from any psychotic, psychological, or psychiatric condition of any and all kinds, and any physiological or psychosomatic manifestations thereof.
11. Treatment or disability directly or indirectly arising from war (declared or undeclared), civil war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power.
